March 2025 Meet Up
College for Creative Studies
Sunday, March 9, 2025
1:00-3:00PM
Our March 2025 meet up will be held at, College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, MI on Sunday, March 9, from 1:00-3:00. For those of you who have attended our MSG annual meetings or any number of MSG workshops, the venue will be quite familiar. For those who have not, the CCS campus has 2 sites; the Art Center Building is located on the Ford Campus, located at 201 E. Kirby. The Jewelry Studio, in the Kresge-Ford Building, room 211 is located on the 2nd floor and is equipped with almost every tool a jeweler could want; our brief tour will whet your appetite to try new techniques! As per our usual agenda, the Meet-Up will cover brief introductions, a short tour of the jewelry studio, and time for networking and sharing:
Show off new creations; tell us how it was made
Share what we’re working on - successes/challenges/frustrations
Get feedback from fellow metalsmiths
Discuss new techniques, resources and upcoming events
Note: There is free parking at the parking garage on Brush St., one block north of Frederick Douglas. Brush St. is one-way and can best be accessed from either Warren or Frederick Douglas. Simply tell the attendant on duty that you are participating in a meeting. From there, it is a quick stroll across the campus.
This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded metals aficionados, explore another teaching studio, to see familiar faces and meet new friends, so grab a friend or two and stop on by.
Light snacks will be provided, and you are also welcome to bring your own snacks.
Plans are in the works to have our May Meet Up in Traverse City, MI; look forward to more information on that meeting in April. Also, we are always looking for venues throughout the state, and we welcome your suggestions. Please let us know if you have any ideas.
