It's back by popular demand! The time honored annual Hammer In at College for Creative Studies and Wayne State University is coming soon. It's a free and fun event, so come and join in for Dr. Cotters Travelling Metals Show with special guest Nicole Jacquard. METALS 2017 Exhibition at Eastern Michigan University

Curated by Dr. Gretchen Otto, Professor of Art, and Brianna Wickoff in partnership with the Michigan Silversmiths Guild, METALS 2017 features the metalwork of 11 regional schools. There are over 60 pieces in the exhibition from Bowling Green State University, College for Creative Studies, Cranbrook Academy of Art, Eastern Michigan University, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Grand Valley State University, Kendall College of Art and Design, Northern Michigan University, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, Wayne State University and Western Michigan University. Instructors were invited to show their work and select several pieces of their students' work. The exhibition is an opportunity to honor students who will show alongside the best work in the area. It allows students and instructors to see what is happening in other institutions. This can spark curiosity and excitement and an opportunity to make connections and exchanges.Metals 2017 includes two receptions. The opening reception will take place Wednesday March 8, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. A second reception, sponsored by the Michigan Silversmiths Guild will he held Saturday March 11, from 6-8 p.m.The works will be on exhibit from March 8 to April 11 at the University Gallery at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center. The center is located at 900 Oakwood St., Ypsilanti. Gallery hours are Monday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
